Lafarge University

Lafarge University was created in 2003. It was designed to improve management and encourage managers to act in compliance with the Group’s Principles of Action. This corporate University works in partnership with some of the best business schools in the world: Insead and Henley in Europe and Duke University and Chicago G.S.B in the United States.

Expansion in Fast growing Markets

The example of Nigeria

After over 50years of doing business in Nigeria, Lafarge Cement WAPCO Nigeria Plc in 2009 performed the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of a new plant in Ewekoro. The New cement Plant-Lakatabu, will increase the company’s production capacity by 2.2 million metric tonnes per annum and help bridge the gap between demand and supply of cement. Also its coming into being will bring about more employment opportunities for people of Nigeria, increased revenue for the government thereby contributing to the well-being of the Nigerian economy.
